I Want To Use AI Less
I understand that if you don't use AI, you start to fall behind because AI speeds up everything. However, it also prevents individuality. It prevents the satisfaction of creating something from scratch instead of telling AI to make something you are thinking of.
The reason why I want to use AI less is because I think failure is something essential. Actually, I think failure is a necessity.
If you keep trying to make everything perfect, trying to optimize everything, you get stuck. Because if it's not optimized 100%, then you won't even start. I know it's not the right mindset to have now because, if you want to make a project, you don't really have time, or at least it feels like that.
Everyone is making a startup or making a new LLM. If you don't quickly make your project, you fall behind. I'm not sure if it's a fear sold on LinkedIn and through word of mouth, but I feel like that.
I sometimes want to write my own LinkedIn posts, maybe not get a 50,000-impression post, but still post what's on my mind and not compete with the LinkedIn algorithm. Or make my own philosophical books with typos and incorrect word choices. Or even make shitty code when making my AI Referee.
I realize that it's a trend just to mention "AI." I was in New York with my friends over the weekend, and everywhere I went, some company was advertising a new AI they have, a new AI startup, a new AI dog - I don't know.
It's a buzzword that everyone is trying to use to sound smart, to compete with everyone. Going against the norm puts you at a disadvantage if you want to play the game and be "successful." But I don't want to make the LinkedIn posts where everyone says, "And honestly…", "I'm excited to announce…", "Here are three things I learned…"
If I make a LinkedIn post like how I talk, will that work? If I code with my style, will that work?
Again, there's nothing wrong with using AI because everyone uses it, including me. It's just that now, if you choose not to use it, it feels like you are in the minority and that it's hindering your chances of success.
Should I try my best to be authentic and risk the chance of being less successful?
